Craig Ferguson Flips His Malibu Beach Home

If he sells at his asking price, the Scottish comedian will definitely have the last laugh.

Craig Ferguson, former host of The Late, Late, Show (and current host of Celebrity Name Game), has listed his four-bed, four-bath home in the ritzy beachside enclave of Malibu, CA, for $7.195 million. But the comic, whose new show, Join or Die, was just ordered up by the History Channel, hasn’t owned it for long: He bought it last June for $5.6 million.

Craigy Ferg is officially a house flipper!

The 3,184-square-foot beachfront home is like a slice of Cape Cod right in Malibu’s uber-exclusive Colony, an extremely private beachside neighborhood protected by guarded gates. Built in 1971 but recently updated, the home features beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean as well as new custom beachside doors and windows.

Each of the four bedrooms is a light-filled, peaceful spot, while beachside decks, hardwood floors, and white walls let the ocean views really shine. The home’s entrance is through a large brick courtyard, and on the backside, a few steps head directly to the beach.

Ferguson’s new History Channel gig has quite the interesting inspiration: The title Join or Die was borrowed from a famous 1754 political cartoon by Benjamin Franklin that aimed to rally citizens of Colonial America. Ferguson had the phrase tattooed on his forearm upon becoming an American citizen.

The comedian has been busy in the real estate world this year. In June, Ferguson listed his Hollywood Hills compound for $5.5 million. But he must have had a change of heart, because the property, which he snagged in 2012 for $4.1 million, was recently pulled off the market. Also in 2012, he listed his Beachwood Canyon villa for just under $2 million.
