Jason Segel Buys Artist Shepard Fairey’s Los Feliz Home For $2.25 Million

The "How I Met Your Mother" star obeyed the urge to snag this artsy Mediterranean-style home.

Jason Segel, known for his comedic turns on TV and more dramatic roles on film, just snapped up a four-bed, three-and-a-half-bath spread in the stylish Los Feliz neighborhood for $2.25 million. But here’s the kicker: He bought the Los Angeles, CA, home for sale from artist Shepard Fairey, aka the guy known for designing the iconic Obama “Hope” posters during the 2008 presidential election.

The 2,523-square-foot home, built in 1929, is a Mediterranean-style beauty with original details like thick archways, hand-applied plaster, and high-beamed ceilings. The living room is the home’s focal point, while the eat-in kitchen has a hand-painted banquette. A stylish dining room features a viewing balcony.

The fourth bedroom reveals the home’s past as an artist’s residence: Serving equally well as a guest suite or office with its own separate entrance, it features a patio with a hidden creative space. (This is where Shepard made the magic happen!) Outdoors, multiple entertaining spaces are tucked in among camellia bushes. It’s the perfect spot for Jason to hang with his lady love, Alexis Minter. The duo just confirmed their rumored romance with an appearance on the red carpet.

Jason, who is set to present at the Academy Awards this weekend, is quite the budding real estate tycoon. Just last year, he bought a home for $1.4 million in the Hollywood Hills. But then there’s his longtime spot in West Hollywood, which he snagged in 2007 for $2.24 million, and another West Hollywood home he bought in 2010 for $1.849 million. If he keeps this up, soon he’ll need a show called How I Met Your Real Estate Mogul.
