Jason Statham Buys Mid-Century Sunset Strip Home

He may play a secret agent on-screen in his new flick "Spy," but there’s nothing secretive about Jason Statham’s real estate prowess.

Handsome action star Jason Statham, who co-stars with Melissa McCarthy in Spy (hitting theaters June 5), has just purchased a four-bed, four-bath spread just off the Sunset Strip — to the tune of $2.7 million.

The 2,917-square-foot home will come to good use for Statham and his lady love, model-actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. The Mid-Century home — built in 1957 — features post-and-beam construction plus a garden-side master suite with an attached den and a fireplace. Sleek glass walls lead to outdoor patios, a saline pool, spa, and gardens with plenty of space for entertaining. The updated kitchen features a breakfast nook and a contrast of hardwood with terrazzo and mixed floors.

Jason won’t be a newbie to the neighborhood; for years, he owned a home on the other side of the street. (He sold it back in 2011 for $2.7 million.) Maybe he just really liked his neighbors.

But if you’re thinking, Whoa, didn’t Jason and Rosie just buy a house?, you’d be right on the money. The British couple just snagged a five-bed, eight-bath spread in the highly coveted 90210 ZIP code for a cool $12.995 million. Many guessed the big purchase was a sign that the couple were putting down roots for good; gossip about a possible engagement has been flying around for months.

Maybe it’s the second home purchase that’ll solidify that deal.
