Jonathan Rhys Meyers Lists Laurel Canyon Home at a Loss

The “Dracula" star is bidding farewell to his Los Angeles castle.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers, the steely-eyed actor you probably think is hot (but also kind of creepy), has listed his two-bath, two-bed home in the desirable Laurel Canyon neighborhood of Los Angeles for $1.55 million.

The 1,656-square-foot home, which was built in 1961, is a contemporary masterpiece straight out of midcentury California. Lush landscaping surrounds the secure retreat, which is elevated above the road. Described as “a series of free-flowing spaces,” the home was featured in the LA Times in 2006.

Hardwood floors and white oak kitchen cabinetry provide a comfortable, elegant aesthetic, as does the Roman-style soaking tub in the master bathroom. The master suite also features a spacious walk-in closet, where there’s plenty of room for Meyers to store all those period costumes from his roles in shows such as The Tudors.

The listing, which prices the home at $45,000 less than the $1.595 million Meyers paid for it in 2007, comes in the wake of news that he’s recovering from a substance abuse relapse. But things aren’t all gloom and doom for Meyers; he just snagged a new gig as the lone survivor of a plane crash in Pakistan in a new drama titled Shambhala. You can also see him on the big screen in Stonewall, a drama about a fictional young man caught up during the 1969 Stonewall gay-rights riots, when it hits theaters on September 25.
