NBA Legend Larry Bird Lists Waterfront Florida Mansion For $4.8 Million

NBA legend Larry Bird is fleeing his coop in Naples, Florida.

Brand new to the market, Bird’s agent confirmed to The News-Press that Bird and his wife, Dinah, want $4.8 million for their custom-built home in the Naples’ Park Shore subdivision.

The Birds have been longtime Naples residents.  The News-Press reports that they first bought a home in the Park Shore neighborhood in 1993 and then sold that house and bought the current home on the 300 block of Neapolitan Way for $875,000 in 1998. Bird and his wife then tore down the house and built the current home in 2001.

Bird’s agent also told The News-Press that Bird is selling the home because he doesn’t have time to spend in Naples now that he’s retaken his job as president of basketball operations for the NBA’s Indiana Pacers after a yearlong health-related sabbatical.

The Bird’s custom waterfront residence captures spectacular expansive views overlooking Venetian Bay. It boasts nearly 6,000 square feet of living space and features custom details throughout. Interior highlights include a gourmet kitchen and four full bedrooms, a saltwater aquarium behind a full service bar and state-of-the-art home theater. Outside, a tiki hut with thatched roof hovers over a summer kitchen and an adjacent infinity-edge pool sits near the sparkling bay.
