Techno king Paul Oakenfold just snagged a four-bed, four-bath estate just off the Sunset Strip for $2.965 million.
Located in in the Hollywood Hills, the home is nestled within Los Angeles’ tony Outpost Estates, a large neighborhood that big names like Salma Hayek, Jason Statham, and Bryce Dallas Howard have also called home.
The midcentury post-and-beam home is a true architectural treasure, designed by legendary architect Robert Boyle. (Boyle, by the way, was Alfred Hitchcock’s chief production designer. Not too shabby a resume.)
Built in 1953, the 2,825-square-foot home boasts an open floor plan and glass walls complemented with vaulted ceilings and wood floors. The five-day funfest will include instruction from some of the industry’s top names as well as in-studio demonstrations and one-on-one study. That’s quite a departure from the archery-and-color-wars of our summer camp days, but, hey, this is Hollywood after all.
Oakenfold also owns a second property in the Hollywood Hills, a four-bed, six-bath spread purchased back in 2003 for $2.35 million. Clearly, he doesn’t subscribe to the “cabin in the woods” summer camp setup.
