Reese Witherspoon Buys A Stately Nashville Fixer-Upper

The $2 million mansion needs a little TLC.

Reese Witherspoon is taking on a project!

The ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ actress just bought a second home in Nashville, paying $1,950,000 for an amazing, stately mansion that’s in a sad state of disrepair.

Described as a “once in a generation opportunity,” the home is a stately 1930’s era home on massive 6.5 acre Oak Hill lot that’s in need of some major, major TLC. The home, as it stands now, has 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and 3,855 square feet.

Reese and Jim have some serious love for Tennessee. After all, they named their young son after the state. With a son named “Tennesee,” it’s no surprise that the showbiz duo are doubling down there. Reese already owns one Nashville mansion, which she picked up for $760,000 in 2005. She grew up in Nashville, and her parents still live nearby. Although she’s been a long time California girl, times, they may be a-changin’.

Currently, Reese and Jim have their Brentwood, California mansion for-sale as an off-market deal. They’re asking $14 million for their 5-bedroom estate and an adjacent lot. They also used to own a place in Ojai, CA, but that sold at a loss late last year.

This new Nashville buy isn’t really a shocking purchase for “America’s Sweetheart.” Reese has always had an affinity for revamping homes and making them her own. She completely redid her ranch in Ojai, CA when she first bought it, and all of her other homes have been upgraded and renovated to perfection.

Her new Nashville mansion has great “bones” and oodles of charm. There’s a masculine wood-paneled library, amazing hardwood floors throughout, and traditional details that give the home a distinguished feel. Each window looks out upon a picturesque brook and sweeping views of the sprawling grounds.

Hat tip to The Real Estalker, who first reported the news of Reese’s new home.
