Russell Brand Drops $2.2 Million On Hilltop Bachelor Pad

British bad boy actor/comedian Russell Brand has just splashed out $2.224 million on a hilltop bachelor pad.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Brand’s new pad hilltop home was once owned by the great Laurence Olivier. The residence is 4,800 square foot, multi-story mansion high in the Hollywood Hills. Built in 1926 and designed by architect Selden Price, the home is nestled into a steep hillside and has incredible panoramic city views.

Fully restored by the previous owner, the gothic-feeling estate has voluminous spaces and dramatic flying buttress arched ceilings and doorways. The entry level is comprised of a spacious living room, an outdoor dining terrace over-looking the canyon and city below, a formal dining room and kitchen with high-quality finishes. Down one flight of stairs, Brand’s lower level includes a master suite, 2 guest bedrooms and an office, all of which open to the incredible views. Walk down yet another level and you’ll find a state-of-the-art screening room, studio apartment with separate entrance and a sprawling outdoor deck and yard over-looking the view – perfect for entertaining!

Brand’s new purchase is his first big real estate move after splitting from ex-wife Katy Perry. While Brand is skating into a new place in the Hills, Perry is having a heck of a time selling their former love nest, which was just price-chopped a second time, bringing the asking price to more than half a million less than what she paid for it in 2011. But don’t cry for Katy – she’s since upgraded to a $11.2 million-dollar Hollywood compound.
