Description

This property is no longer available to rent or to buy. This description is from April 26, 2024
Live your Montana dream just minutes from downtown Missoula. Nestled on 5.5 acres in the Pattee Canyon area of Missoula, this beautiful log home is a modern adaptation of the quintessential mountain homestead. Missoula, home to the University of Montana, is often described as a paradise for recreation because of the three rivers that become one in the valley, and acres of open space above the valley floor. Pattee Canyon is the drainage on the east side of Missoula and includes residential areas, access to one of Missoula's newest trail systems on Mt. Dean Stone, and the 3200-acre Pattee Canyon Recreation Area. Arnica Road is just five minutes from the base of the canyon, and this beautiful 5.5 acre parcel is one of the first properties on Arnica. The log home was meticulously constructed in 1989, and remains in exceptionally good condition. Features including custom iron work, masonry, and hand-crafted detailing all add to the distinctiveness of this offering. The main level of the home includes an inviting living area that is open to the updated kitchen. Access to the gracious porches increases the living space and blurs the lines between outdoors and indoors in the warmer months. On the second level the primary bedroom with en suite bathroom is joined by two additional bedrooms and a second full bathroom. The daylight lower level provides the perfect space for hanging out or watching TV, along with an additional room and bathroom. While the home offers inviting sanctuary, outside is plenty of room to enjoy the old trees, numerous birds and visiting wildlife. There are two outbuildings for storing tools and toys, and charming areas for relaxing. A new boiler system was recently installed in September, 2023.
