UPDATE! John Mayer Buys Adam Levine’s Beverly Hills Home For $13.4M

It looks like the 'Clarity' singer got it for a song.

In Hollywood, it seems like every famous person knows each other, and that familiarity extends to real estate. Singer-songwriter John Mayer, known for his many lady loves including Katy Perry, Jessica Simpson, and Jennifer Aniston, just snagged an iconic property from another famous face: Maroon 5 crooner Adam Levine. Mayer just dropped $13.4 million on Levine’s five-bed, seven-bath estate in Beverly Hills. Stars: They’re just like us!

Benedict House is a historic estate with panoramic views of the stunning canyons of Los Angeles. Located on 3.6-plus acres, the home offers complete privacy tucked behind the gates of the coveted Wallingford Estates, which has only about 14 homes inside. This is perfect for Mayer, always hoping to eschew the prying eyes of the paparazzi.

At the end of a long, gated driveway with a large circular motor court, the five-bed, seven-bath home, which measures 7,100 square feet, has been “completely rebuilt” and is a modern-style beauty. Said to have “one of the best and most dramatic living/great rooms in Los Angeles” (and that’s saying a lot!), the home also features a media/screening room, gourmet kitchen, den/library, and a separate gym/spa. But here’s the kicker: There’s also a two-story car collector’s garage with a lift. That’s right, an elevator just for your special-car garage! Walls of glass look out to the swimming pool and beautifully manicured grounds, as well as a championship-sized tennis court.

Levine and his supermodel wife, Behati Prinsloo, listed the sprawling property in 2016 for $17.5 million, but nobody snapped it up, and it was eventually taken off the market. Last year, they re-listed Benedict House for $15.9 million, to no avail. Adam bought the estate back in 2012 for $4.83 million, so no matter what price it sells at, Levine will end up a happy man. Levine and Prinsloo have been pretty busy lately, anyway: In November of 2017 they listed their Holmby Hills property for $18.9 million, a $900,000 increase from what they originally paid for it back in August.
