Dr. Dre Buys Calabasas Home For $4.9M

Forget Compton. He's Straight Outta Calabasas!

Dr. Dre’s “Next Episode” is taking him him Calabasas. The iconic rapper and producer just dropped $4.9 million on a sprawling six-bed, seven-bath estate in the ritzy Los Angeles city, and it’s one of his most luxurious purchases yet.

Built in 1997, the expansive home sits on an almost 33,000-square-foot lot overlooking the exquisite rolling mountains. Tucked away on a cul-de-sac, the 9000-square-foot property features stunning custom details like stone floors, iron and glass entry doors, and custom moldings. Step inside, and you’re greeting by the sweeping staircase that cascades upward. A top-of-the-line kitchen has its own casual dining nook, while the more formal dining room is an elegant spot with big windows. Additional amenities include an eight-car garage, unique home theater designed by Theo Kalamirakis, acoustically engineered recording studio, and game room. The outdoor area is guaranteed to please Dre’s guests, thanks to the tennis court, free form pool and spa, barbecue center, and cozy fire-pit with one-of-a-kind mountain views. The entire space is lush landscaped with rolling grass and mature trees, as well as a sparkling limestone fountain.

Dr. Dre is quite the collector of real estate. In addition to his new Calabasas home, he owns another home in town, as well as additional properties in Woodland Hills and Malibu. And of course, you may remember the $40 million French Chateau-style mansion in the Hollywood Hills he purchased from New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and his wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen. He quickly flipped that property, but unfortunately took a $5 million hit.
