Gary Sinise Lists Luxurious Calabasas Compound

The award-winning actor is selling his home in gated community popular with Hollywood heavyweights.

Gary Sinise, best known for his iconic roles as double amputee Lieutenant Dan in Forrest Gump and kidnapper of Mel Gibson’s son in Ransom, has put his 5,200-square-foot Calabasas, CA, spread in The Oaks up for sale. That’s too bad considering Khloe Kardashian just moved into the chi-chi gated community back in March, dashing our dreams of Sinise joining the cast of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Sinise, who just wrapped up his role on CSI: NY and will keep fighting crime as the star of a new Criminal Minds spinoff, bought the four-bedroom, five-bath home back in 2008 for $3.55 million. The home will go on the market with a bit of an increase at $3.89 million, and we’re thinking it’d be hard to turn down the spacious spread, which really embraces the whole indoor/outdoor vibe.

The star’s for-sale home includes luxuries like an outdoor fireplace and barbecue bar, waterfall, koi pond, and soundproof music room, where Sinise no doubt likes to JAM with his fellow members of the appropriately named Lieutenant Dan Band. There are also three guest suites, including one that opens onto a private covered living terrace. (Do you think Tom Hanks comes over for the occasional Forrest Gump reunion?) But the best part of the home has to be the backyard view: a panoramic angle on the Santa Monica Mountains that would make any aspiring homeowners open their checkbooks.

Calabasas is quite popular with Hollywood heavyweights. Former Dawson’s Creek star/escapee of Tom Cruise Katie Holmes recently bought a six-bedroom mansion in the peaceful Los Angeles suburb for herself and her tres-chic daughter, Suri.
