James Franco Lists His Silver Lake Home For $949K

And it's exactly the picturesque Los Angeles pad you'd expect the star to call home.

Now’s your chance to live like everyone’s favorite brooding Hollywood star. James Franco, the Tinseltown jack-of-all-trades known for roles ranging from Judd Apatow‘s cult favorite Freaks and Geeks opposite Jason Segel to his Oscar nominated performance in 127 Hours, has put his two-bed, three-bath home in the hipster enclave of Silver Lake on the market for $949,000. The property, which Franco bought back in 2012 for $775,000, is the quintessential artist’s retreat, where you can easily imagine the star pounding away on a typewriter.

Built in 1923 at the height of the Los Angeles housing boom, the Spanish-style home is a highly significant piece of architecture. Measuring 1496 square feet, the European-style floor plan allows a flexible definition of spaces, where rooms could easily be converted from a bedroom to a home office or art studio. The multiple spacious living areas are both welcoming and cozy, complete with the classic rustic Spanish charm a property like this is known for. A top floor “Crow’s Next” provides stunning views of the Hollywood sign, Silver Lake reservoir, and peaceful landscape. And with a prime location near Silver Lake‘s dining and retail scene, it’s no wonder why fellow stars like SNL alum Chris Parnell and Sia have called the neighborhood home.
