UPDATE! David Arquette Buys Kate Walsh’s Encino Home For $4.6M

The wacky "Scream" star might let out a few screams of joy after he moves into this beautiful home.

It can’t get more Hollywood than this: David Arquette, the wacky actor and ex-husband of Courtney Cox, has just dropped $4.6 million on a new home. But in the grand tradition of Tinseltown, he’s purchased it from another star: Private Practice actress Kate Walsh!

The 4,332-square-foot ranch-style home, which was built in 1950, is an elegant property in the prestigious and highly-coveted Royal Oaks neighborhood of Encino, CA. Tucked behind gates, the private home has all the amenities one needs. Three en-suite bedrooms are perfect for guests, while a gorgeous media room and office provide the perfect spaces to work or relax at home. A remodeled open kitchen has state-of-the-art appliances and a cozy sitting area, while the grand living room, complete with an inviting fireplace, basks in light thanks to a wall of windows. The master suite is a peaceful oasis, with a sitting room and fireplace. Outside, a heated swimming pool, tennis court, grassy yard, and multiple entertainment areas are complemented by lush landscaping and towering oak trees that contribute to the private, sheltered feel.

Walsh rose to fame on popular ABC dramas helmed by Shonda Rhimes — first as Dr. Addison Montgomery opposite Patrick Dempsey on Grey’s Anatomy, and later in the same role on Private Practice, where she starred with Taye Diggs. Walsh bought the home back in 2013 for $2.725 million, but she has a extensive background in real estate musical chairs herself.  Until 2013, Kate lived in a Los Feliz, CA, mansion that she snagged back in 2007 for $4.75 million. She tried to sell that pad in 2011, listing the home for $3.995 million, almost $1 million less than she paid for it. But with no buyer in sight, she took it off the market, re-listing the 6,000-square-foot Spanish beauty in 2013 for $4.75 million.

Before snagging Kate’s pad, Arquette sold the O’Melvany House, an architectural gem in the Hancock Park, CA neighborhood, for $8.42 million. He bought that iconic home back in 2014 for $7.15 million. But we think we know where Arquette acquired his real estate acumen: none other than ex-wife Courtney Cox, who is widely known as one of the most proficient house-flippers in all of La-La Land.
