Kristin Cavallari And Jay Cutler Are Selling Their Chicago Mansion

Forget “The Hills.” Snap up Kristin and Jay’s home and make your real estate dreams come true in the Midwest.

It’s a long way from Laguna Beach, CA, to Chicago, IL, but for this house, you just may want to make the trip. Former MTV reality starlet Kristin Cavallari and her husband, former Chicago Bears star Jay Cutler, are hoping to score a real estate touchdown: They just listed their seven-bed, 10-bath home in Lake Forest, IL, for $4.75 million. Kristin is known for reality shows like The Hills and Dancing with the Stars, on which she partnered with Mark Ballas. The couple bought the home for $4.25 million back in 2014, when Jay was still throwing the pigskin for the Bears.

Measuring 11,000 square feet, the mansion was built in 2013. Set on a 1.5-acre wooded lot, the property also has significant beachfront space on the sparkling Lake Michigan shore. Step inside the foyer, and you’re greeted by rich hardwood flooring that continues up a winding staircase to the second level. In the spacious kitchen, a huge marble center island is the perfect spot to sit and chat, while dual refrigerators and double ovens provide ample hardware to cook for a busy family. Five fireplaces are placed around the home, for a cozy, intimate aesthetic. The sprawling mansion comes with every amenity possible, from an indoor basketball court and screening room to a wine cellar and three-car garage.

Back in 2013, Kristin and Jay snagged a pricey $10,000-a-month rental in the luxe suburb of Winnetka, IL — the same town where the statuesque mansion belonging to Macaulay Culkin’s Kevin McCallister in Home Alone is located. Even in his bachelor days, Jay had good taste in real estate: Before he met Kristin, he rented a three-bedroom, 2,050-square-foot condo unit on Chicago’s Near North Side for $6,500 a month. Meanwhile, Kristin isn’t the only former star of The Hills who has listed a luxe property recently: Her former nemesis, Lauren Conrad, has also put her home on the market.
