Mark Ballas Drops $1.5 Million In Laurel Canyon

The "Dancing with the Stars" performer is shimmying over to a new crib.

Mark Ballas isn’t shaking things up just on the dance floor. The Dancing with the Stars choreographer/dancer/actor is trading in his large Beverly Hills, CA, home for a smaller property in Los Angeles, CA’s legendary Laurel Canyon neighborhood. But smaller doesn’t mean it came cheap: Mark dropped $1.5 million on the cozy four-bed, two-bath home. He bought his Beverly Hills mansion back in 2015 for $2.525 million and just sold it for $3.125 million, which means Mark pocketed some serious dough on the sale. Maybe he’s looking to make the big bucks like his former DWTS partners Candace Cameron Bure, Kim Kardashian, and Kristin Cavallari?

The contemporary-style Laurel Canyon home, which was built in 1952, embraces the free-spirited vibes the area is famous for. (Stars like Jared Leto, Joaquin Phoenix, and The Chainsmokers have all owned property here.) Just minutes from the busy Sunset Strip, Mark’s new digs are secluded and tranquil, with vaulted tongue-and-groove ceilings that highlight the prime craftsmanship. Measuring 1,979 square feet, the home is tucked behind a gated entry and surrounded by mature trees. The natural beauty of the property continues from the spacious front yard to the beautifully terraced backyard, where succulent gardens provide the perfect backdrop for entertaining guests. A formal living room, dining room, and cook’s kitchen flow comfortably through the home, while a stylish master suite comes with a walk-in closet and sliding glass doors that open out to a patio.

While you may not think it, shaking their moneymakers has proven to be quite the lucrative gig for Mark and other DWTS alums like Julianne Hough and Karina Smirnoff. It may take two to tango, but it takes only one person to buy a multimillion-dollar house in Hollywood.
