Moby Lists His Los Feliz Home For $4.495M

After a 2-year renovation, the music man is selling his stylish home.

Put on your dancing shoes, because Moby (real name: Richard Melville Hall) is ready to make some moves. After a two-year renovation, the musician/man of many talents just listed his five-bed, eight-bath estate in the ritzy hipster enclave of Los Feliz for $4.495 million. Moby bought the home in The Oaks, a peaceful, hilly neighborhood, just two years ago for $3.4 million, so he’s looking at a profit of over a million dollars if he gets his asking price. And seeing as high-end estates in the area go for big money (stars ranging from Jason Segel and Michael C. Hall to Natasha Bedingfield and Sia have sold properties in Los Feliz) maybe he’ll get his wish.

Built in 1926, the traditional-style home has been fully reimagined to embrace modern amenities and original craftsmanship.  Filled with grand public rooms, towering ceilings, and hardwood floors, the 4,464-square-foot property is ideal for someone looking for privacy. A large foyer welcomes guests, and flows into a dramatic living room, where high ceilings tower over a fireplace. A state-of-the-art kitchen with a walk-in pantry allows direct access to the outdoors, where we’re guessing Moby cooked up some of his famous vegan cuisine. Kale, anyone?

The estate embraces a work-at-home lifestyle, complete with an assistant’s office and guest suite with a secret “speakeasy” entrance into a full bath/steam room. Truly embracing indoor/outdoor living, there are several patio areas as well as a swimming pool and spa that are ideal for entertaining. The renovation also allowed a stunning reinvention of the landscaping, adding a verdant forest of trees to create a private sanctuary right in Los Angeles.

While Moby may be looking to part with this property, he won’t be too far away: since 2014, he’s owned the home next door.
