Nicole Richie and Joel Madden List Laurel Canyon Home for $3.5 Million

Amid rumors of trouble in paradise, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are saying sayonara to their longtime home.

Update: After over 5 months on the market, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have sold the home for $2.67 million. Although the couple didn’t get the asking price for the home, they made a nice profit of over $750K.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have listed their Laurel Canyon home for $3.495 million, which would mean a nice profit of more than $1.5 million. (They originally snagged the home back in 2009 for $1.912 million.)

Tucked behind gates inside a very private compound, the 6,300-square-foot home is an architectural gem, featuring soaring ceilings and a sky dome that streams in natural sunlight.

The home, which you may remember from a popular spread in Domaine, includes an office, extensive storage areas, and several skylights to keep the sunny oasis shining bright. At least we know why Nicole needs to wear those oversized sunglasses so much.

Located on a quaint 17,000-square-foot lot, the family’s main home (they ditched their Glendale spare last summer) features a lush backyard that includes a lagoon pool with beach-style entry, as well as a spa that waterfalls in.

Built-in seating and a kiddie play area make this home ultra-family friendly. It offers a spacious, updated kitchen that continues on out to the outdoor barbecue area, where we bet Joel has flipped a burger or two. In the master suite, there’s a walk-in closet described as “cavernous.” After all, this is Nicole Richie we’re talking about. A guesthouse is just steps away.

There have been serious rumors of drama surrounding Nicole and Joel. Yet even though the interwebs are bustling with rumors of a possible divorce, the couple seem to be holding steady. Back in March, they dropped $6.7 million on a Beverly Hills pad.
