The Obamas Just Elected a Long Term Home

After months of renting the Kalorama Heights home, the former first family has just purchased it for $8.1M.

From the White House to a brick house, Obama and the first family are making it official in the Kalorama Heights neighborhood. After renting the home since January for $20,000 per month, the Obama family now owns the nine-bedroom, eight- and a half-bathroom home, so their youngest daughter, Sasha, can finish high school in Washington, D.C.. The home, originally built in 1928, underwent a major renovation in 2011. With white and grey marble top counters and hardwood floors throughout, the home looks just as classy as its new residents.

The house also comes with a few presidential touches essential to its new owners, like the courtyard with room for ten vehicles, perfect for when Joe Biden stops by for a scoop of ice cream, and a large dressing room with floor-to-ceiling closets, perfect for Michelle’s designer wardrobe.

Although we’re sure the Obama family will put their own touches on the place, it is certainly a home that competes with the White House style.
