Producer Jon Peters Selling Home He Purchased From Tennis Ace Pete Sampras

Famous Hollywood producer Jon Peters is selling a Beverly Hills retreat he bought from Pete Sampras in August 2004. Purchased from Sampras in August 2004 for $3,000,000, Peters has now listed the property for $5,495,000.

Now a high-powered Hollywood producer with titles like “Rain Man,” “Caddyshack,”Flashdance,” The Color Purple” and “Superman Returns.” Originally, Peters was a Beverly Hills hairdresser, amassing a huge celebrity clientele at his trendy Jon Peters Salon on Rodeo Drive, raking in millions by merchandising the salon’s ancillary cosmetic products. In 1974, he fell in love with his client Barbra Streisand and proceeded to manage her early music and film career. He produced her 1976 remake of A Star Is Born, which yielded over $100 million at the box office and four Oscar nominations including the Oscar-winning song, “Evergreen.” Peters went on to produce a string of best-selling Streisand albums, and eventually blossomed into an A-list producer, a role he’s maintained over 30 years.

Any A-lister in Hollywood needs a home suited for that role. Peters spent 6 years at 2620 Benedict Canyon Road and is now on to his next stop. The for-sale home is an enchanting private country retreat tucked above Benedict Canyon and only minutes from the heart of Beverly Hills on a gorgeous 1.5 acre lot with tennis court, lawns, patios, pool, spa, and lush landscaping. The home features a beautiful living room with fireplace, gourmet kitchen with professional appliances and breakfast area, large family room with bar, formal dining room, and den. Fine details throughout including hardwood floors, vaulted and beamed ceilings, paneling, and custom built-ins. Upstairs features two family bedrooms and master suite with his and her baths and closets. A fourth bedroom suite is downstairs, along with an additional guest suite with living room, bath, and separate entrance.
