Richard Gere Asking $65 Million For Hamptons Estate

Actor Richard Gere is selling his Hamptons-area estate for the ambitious asking price of $65 million. According to Curbed, the the undeniably handsome star of flicks such as ‘Pretty Woman,’ ‘Primal Fear,’ ‘An Officer and A Gentleman’ and ‘Arbitrage’ has just listed the 12,000 square feet, 12 bedrooms and 12 bathroom home known as Strongheart Manor. Gere paid $6,900,000 for the largest part of this massive estate in 2005 and later bought the adjacent lot in 2007 for $1,675,000 and added it to his larger estate.

Worth the now sky-high price tag? Let’s examine the details:

Gere’s private 6+ acre estate sits on 300+ feet of waterfront, making it a perfect summer escape. Built in 1902, it has since been beautifully renovated and expanded. The main house anchors the estate, and the property has 2 additional guest houses. The acreage and the $65 million-dollar price tag also includes rolling lawns, flowering gardens, an outdoor fireplace pavilion, teahouse, waterfront pond, and dock permits.

Linda Haugevik of Sotheby’s Realty holds the listing.
