Description

The Most Magical Condo In Brooklyn!
Welcome home to 259 21st St, Unit 2E: A distinctive, vast 1250 square foot two-bedroom, two-bathroom corner unit with 13' high ceilings, three exposures and the most spectacular arched windows you have ever seen! If you have dreamt of owning an apartment that is special and unique, while also checking off the practical boxes, this is it!

When you first walk through the door you are instantly struck by the apartment's light and breadth, as well as the impressive height of the ceilings. The wide entry hallway includes the first full bath and a vented washer-dryer closet. This then leads to the massive, grand open-concept dining and living area, with the most amazing, romantic arched window as the centerpiece. The kitchen is fully equipped with Bosch and GE appliances (cooking gas is included in maintenance, as well as heat), and has a lovely peninsula, perfect for entertaining. The large two bedrooms are at opposite sides of the open main area, each with spacious closets and amazing light. The primary bedroom has the second magnificent poetic arched window, with sky views and facing the beautiful historic landmarked church, as well as an en-suite full bathroom. Both bedrooms are large enough to also include a home office. As a corner unit, the apartment boasts windows on three sides, with southern, eastern and northern exposures. Recently refinished oak hardwood floors are throughout, new vanities and plumbing in the bathrooms and a new tankless water- heater add even more value to this home. A true two bedroom, the apartment also has a splendid loft feel!

This remarkable home is part of the desirable 38-unit Saint John's Condominium, an ornate, historic building that was a former grammar school built in 1904, which underwent a full renovation and conversion into loft condominiums in 2006. This pet-friendly building has a large elevator, bike room, wonderful live-in super and a beyond words sprawling 5000 square foot communal rooftop deck, providing breathtaking views of the harbor, Statue of Liberty and city skyline! This architecturally distinctive building is nestled on a serene, tree-lined street in the heart of the thriving Greenwood Heights neighborhood (adjacent to Park Slope). Down the block from the wonderful shops and restaurants on 5th and 6th Avenues, such as Tambour, Sea Witch, Gasworks NYC clay studio, Under Minerva Gallery, Battle Hill Tavern, Luigi's and Hey Monday Coffee Shop, it is also near the R and F/G subways and the B63 bus. With a myriad of acclaimed school and daycare options just a stone's throw away, the playground at 6th avenue and 19th street, and a short walk to Prospect Park, Brooklyn living doesn't get any better than this!

  • Trulia User
"The commute is easy, a lot of public transportation and main avenues to travel down. The neighborhood needs work though "
  • Trulia User
"Close to shopping, parks, great bars & restaurants. People are friendly & a sense of community. Not as crowded as North Park Slope. Lots of hidden gems."
  • Trulia User
"Dog parks available and people clean up after their dogs. There are also pet shops nearby for any supply needs. "
  • Trulia User
"Greenwood Heights is a great place to live! Close to everything and less crowded than Park Slope. Great restaurants, nice diversity and the schools are very good. "
  • Trulia User
"Nice neighborhood friendly people sense of community but dangerous sometimes. Drunk people. Packages are often stolen"
  • Trulia User
"It’s a very dog friendly place! So many great pups in the area, a dog training school, a dog park, pet stores, and lots of walkers."
  • Trulia User
"Greenwood is so beautiful. The only thing I hate abt here is that it’s so expensive and it’s so hard to find a place to park ur car. But if you have the money and patience to own a car and find a parking space this is the right place for you. There’s rlly good nearby schools I attended ps295 and new voices which is in the same building and I absolutely loved my time there"
  • Trulia User
"There is a nice playground. Many elementary and middle schools. That’s all. No ice cream places or toy stores in the area . It’s dirty everywhere. Some People are nice , but there are loud music and noisy in the night sometimes. "
  • Trulia User
"Green word is such a beautiful place to live. It’s not noisy might be cause of holidays but that’s it. Safe at all hours and days. Close to transportation. I live near 5th ave and always take the R or B63. But it is a hard time to find a place to park your car and it is expensive but if you have the money and have patience with finding parking then this is the right place for you. And it’s close to schools if you have kids "
  • NJ
"We love the 5th Avenue fairs in the summertime! Greenwood cemetery is beautiful to walk through. Lots of restaurants and stores in the neighborhood. Always something to do."
  • TERESA S.
"I see dog owners walking around the neighborhood. I used to have a dog. There are no dog areas (park)"
  • Daniel C.
"Good place for a start. I think will be more developed though. Days are pretty safe, but night time it can be a bit sketch."
  • Lilia S.
"We have neighborhood fairs once in a while, and Halloween parade. We also have movie nights in one of the community gardens and Prospect Park."
  • Britt.rogers
"Ive lived here for 3 years exactly. Everyone is friendly and courteous. It’s great for families and there is a fantastic sense of community."
  • Pam B.
"Great small neighborhood dog run and a short-ish 15 minute walk fto the Prospect Park 15th Street entrance. Great area for dog lovers."
  • Kata15442
"It petty cool, many restaurants and bars around , also you are close to the water which is really convenient in summer "
  • Christie A.
"You cannot take your dog into Greenwood cemetery so I’m commenting on the person who said people don’t pick up after their dogs in the cemetery. In general, many people do not pick up after their dogs past 6th Avenue down to 4th between 15th street and 23rd. It’s a problem. We have dogs and continually pick up after people when our dogs go in an effort to keep our streets clean. "
  • m
"There are a lot of new families and a lot of condos being put up. I grew up here and do not like the condos. It has a lot of restaurants and bars and everything is walking distance "
  • Qies M.
"It’s just so quiet and peaceful except when this bar came then they just make it hard to sleep but you learn to live with it unfortunately "
  • Buddy346
"They take their mutts to green-cemetery for their business and do not feel the need to pick up after them "
  • Buddy346
"All I see is the nannies raising other people’s children and the nannies are on the cell phones igorning their charges"
  • J
