What Locals Say about East Village

  • John Michael Castro
"I have lived here for almost four years now. It is a quiet neighborhood, peaceful and well maintained."
  • Trulia User
"None that I know of and don’t think there is much of anything at least r or that I know of . Not really a fan of the area. Too many people crammed in the space. Not what I am used to at all. But it’s a place to live so I am thankful for that. "
  • Trulia User
"We are about a 5-8 min drive from downtown and City of Oxnard City Hall. About a 2 min drive from Camino Del Sol park. There is a green belt path through part of the neighborhood that makes for a good walk."
  • Unspecified
"Nice but some riff raff and loud cars on our street. Our packages get stolen often as well. However lots of nice walking areas and convenient near shopping and the hospital"
  • Clay O.
"Long arduous, Oxnard is a trap, a tempest even, good luck, once you get in you will never get out, we call it hotel California "
  • Diana M.
"I love the fact that I feel safe here. I see people of all ages walking late at night. our community has a pool and spa which is very family friendly. "
  • Just4tacks
"Quiet, tucked away gated community with minimal vehicle and foot traffic. Enclosed neighborhood park, play area great for kids and dogs to openly run. "
  • Gloera2000
"Great accommodations, great location. Close to anything you can think of in this beautiful city. A quick cab ride to business or if you prefer take a bus, and for those of you that commute to work you’re 5 minutes or less to the freeway yet far enough not to hear the traffic as you get ready to commute to Santa Barbara or Santa Monica beaches. After arriving home from work why not take a relaxing and pleasant stroll at the East Village Park. The new 6 acre park, under Construction, is located right next to the new Rio Rosales Middle School. Amenities will include but will not be limited to tennis courts, basketball courts, a rubberized running track around the park; concrete walkways and curbs throughout; a playground with two distinct age groups of equipment; exercise equipment area; a prefabricated restroom building; picnic areas with tables and barbecues; installation of fixtures such as trash cans~ bike racks and bollards; landscape and irrigation system and plantings; safety lighting and fencing around the park area and a park Monument sign . By the way if you get a chance to chat with your neighbor, by all means do it. Great people! And if that’s not enough then there is The Collection at RiverPark, an outdoor shopping center located east of the 101 Freeway and 5 minutes from the general area, The mall's notable feature is a Century 16 movie theater, Whole Foods Market, H&M, and several restaurants. Retailers include White House Black Market, Jos A. Bank, H&M, Chicos, Color Me Mine and REI. Restaurants include Yard House, Famous Dave's BBQ, Settebello Pizzeria Napolentana, Kabuki Japanese Restaurant, Gen Korean BBQ, Panera Bread, Five Guys, Starbucks, and Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill. The center is located within the RiverPark subdivision of Oxnard. A totally comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable location."
  • "Regardless of where you are in life, it is a great area. For families, it is affordable and close to parks and schools. For singles and couples, close to dining, shopping, and highway. For retirees, affordable retirement home close to beach and amenities. "
  • Victor I.
