What Locals Say about Midtown - Winn Park Capital Avenue

  • Jennakimchandler
"charming neighborhood with many local cafe's, walkable, lots of nightlife, many annual events and festivals, lots of pop up markets "
  • "Best public transit in the area. Going downtown from midtown is as simple as cycling or taking a scooter. "
  • Amy Renee Petersen
"Parks are small but sidewalks are wide. Not a lot of trash cans for throwing out dog poop bags. Overall an okay neighborhood for walking your dog. "
  • "It’s a unique area. Diverse in people and interests. It has the mix of suburbs and city in one. There has to be comfort in that mix of people "
  • "Beautiful architecture, with lots of things to do. Very safe, walkable/bikeable. highly proud of the area."
  • "Can’t beat living in the heart of Sacramento Midtown. Always something exciting going on: Concerts in the streets, farmers markets, beer or wine festivals. There are galleries, amazing restaurants, great breweries, wine bars, and clubs. Beautiful capital park nearby for walks with the dog, and lovely historic sites to visit as Sutter’s fort and the Capital. If you work downtown, its a 15 minute stroll to DOCO, so you never have to park. Midtown is perfect for the city deweller that lives for the night life, the retiree thats enjoys walking everywhere, or the couple who enjoys living and working in downtown/ midtown Handle district. Most public places welcome your dogs too. 🐕"
  • "Fun place for young single or hip young couples. Also if your retired, or state worker working downtown its great walkable lifestyle. "
  • "Lots of broken glass and unidentifiable items dogs should not but I in their mouths on streets around restaurant and bars "
  • "Midtown is a mixed bag. Dirty streets, homeless but incredible restaurants and fun bars. Not the safest place for a girl to walk her dog at night"
  • "Food truck events; neighborhood breweries; friendly neighbors; lots of dogs; dog parks and parks; nice street art; second Saturday; live bands; great eateries; people biking and scooting; walking friendly "
  • "My commute is 8 minutes but I work about 20 blocks away, downtown. I don’t have to take freeways so it’s pretty dope. I take my son to school in East Sac Every and that can be a little touch and go but traveling before 7:45 am anywhere in the area isn’t too bad. "
  • "The Winn Park area is well maintained and friendly, artsy, music, small stores. Over towards K to L Street, the sidewalks and asphalt are a deplorable mess, and the City should be ashamed. Also a lot of harassment by homeless when you move towards K thru Capitol near Alhambra."
  • "I work downtown on 4th and R. I’ve had a car since I was 16 but after moving to Sac a year ago and living in Midtown/working Downtown, I got rid of it (parking tickets here are no joke). I live 2 blocks from a lightrail station and if I’m ever in a real hurry I can get a jump bike or scooter very easily or, if I’m running really late, i can always Uber/Lyft. My work is just over 20 blocks so I don’t walk TO work but I walk home every day When I have the time and it’s a perfect walk."
  • "I live in midtown and walk 10 blocks to work in downtown! Right through capital park, it’s typically very nice! "
  • "Very dog friendly. There is a dog park near by and good dog owners. Most places are pet friendly and allow dogs like restaurants and pubs and stores. Most owners clean up after their dogs. The dog park is friendly and separated by dog sizes."
  • "There are many music venues, bars/clubs imax theater. The art museum is great with live music and entertainment. I love midtown. "
  • "Its friendly and theres a lot of dogs and close to dog parks and clean everyone cleans up after their pets"
  • "I walk or bike everywhere. The only time I ever drive is to make a target run, or go to the Bay Area, but even to the BA I usually just take Amtrak. "
  • "lived here for a year. great neighborhood. eould likebto move near it. when myvdogs get out somebody always calls me."
