What Locals Say about Bethany

  • Chris K.
"Great schools and community. small safe friendly town with reasonable tax rates, walking and bike riding parks. great commuting community to Route 8, 15 and 84. we have lived here 15 years and our only regret was that we didn't move here sooner when all our kids were just starting school. Amity HS rated one of the top public HS in Connecticut. The grammer and middle schools are excellent. I'm not sure any young family could get a better value for their tax dollar or a better community to raise a family. Clover Nook Farm is right up the street for yummy veggies, corn and more! Country diner, Teddy B's (our favorite) and Billy's restaurants are very New England hometown eateries with great food that won't kill your wallet! public works and roads are maintained pretty well. Snow plowing in the winter is pretty prompt and responsive. Trash pickup is weekly curbside. Recycled pickup is at the town recycle center. The town is exploring curbside pickup as they feel the recycling participation will grown exponentially. All in all I would highly recommend Bethany for any family looking for a safe community with great schools tha"

"There is so much free space on the properties for dogs to enjoy. Great streets to take dogs on walks. "
  • Mrcraigmarch
"Plenty of paved areas to walk as well as trails through the woods. Many neighbors have dogs and we have met many of them as they walk. Sometimes horses are around as well that could scare some dogs. Lots of wildlife as well so outside dogs may need to be put up at night. Bobcats, fox, and coyotes are common. "

"Many private streets for walking and dog park and veterans memorial park that is dog friendly. Bethany is very pet friendly for families who may want chickens, goats, alpacas, horses etc."
