What Locals Say about Shepherd Park

  • Trulia User
"It’s a very nice neighborhood that’s centrally located to DC and downtown Silver Spring. That’s it. "
  • Hailey M.
"Lived here forever, and there’s a diversity here which is special. All races, sexual orientations, and religions. Lots of schools!"
  • D. M. B.
"It is an old and established neighborhood, but is very welcoming of new comers and families of any makeup."
  • Kwame
"love it here. it's very comfortable and personable. I'm really grateful to live here. I look forward to living here a long time! "
  • D M. B.
"My neighborhood has pretty good public transportation. By car there is easy access to downtown, the beltway, and Bethesda and Silver Spring."
  • Tsion77
"We love our neighborhood. Very friendly and watchful over one another but not intrusive but caring. "
  • Tsion77
"Great area to raise children. Quiet neighborhood and friendly. School nearby with a new track and playground area. Fenced property. "
  • Equussanchez
"Great area, gentrification is hitting it hard. The culture is beginning to become lost, however the area is seeing a resurgence. However less kids are in the neighborhood now, a lot of families are moving to Montegomery county over in Maryland."
  • "This is a quiet, safe, pet friendly community for all ages. I've lived in Shepherd Park since 1988, the homes are very spacious and they have great bones. We renovated the house from top to bottom, put a two story addition and we still have plenty of space in the backyard. We have everything we need walking distance, Metro, restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters, Rock Creek Park, walking trails, public transportation. Best of all in all the years I lived here we have never lost power during a summer storm. This is a great place to raise a family, retire, perfect for singles or young couples."
