"It’s a very quiet neighborhood, very homey feel. Love all the surrounding trees when taking long walks. "

"I've been researching modular home communities and have a penchant for Rexmere Village. It's much like a retirement village BUT Rexmere doesn't discriminate and all ages are welcome, which I like. The grounds are kept impeccable and the streets are very neat, as cars are not allowed to park on the street. Everyone has a carport, it appears. There is planned entertainment every so often at the Olympic-sized pool, that's free. The best part for me is renters are NOT allowed; only owner-occupied is permitted. There's sidewalks EVERYWHERE which I like, as I use a wheelchair when out and about. Residents can garden if they wish and all the folks take pride and are evidently quite talented with gardening. The land, however is rented from Rexmere and be too steep for some. Most owners pay cash for their home, so the $600-$800 (lakefront) might preclude some. Trash is picked up TWICE weekly. Background checks are done on ALL prospective owners and residents, making the area all the more safer. The nearby schools (within two miles!) are top-rated and Rexmere offers FREE tutoring compliments of thoughtful and competent volunteers. Oh, there's a stocked lake for fishing and a small boardwalk on the lake that's beautiful. There's also tennis courts and other outdoor activities that elude me right now. OH, there's EVEN a LIBRARY!! I did look up the bus route (I think the bus is #6). If you're like me with the wheelchair issue, from what I see, I can wheel anywhere and take the bus to the schools where I hope to work. There's NO dumpy-looking or neglected homes, either. Rexmere allows dogs that aren't part of the aggressive breeds. Owners are expected to clean up after their pets. Go to 'street view' at any Rexmere listing to see more of the grounds. Well, that's all; maybe someone else can fill in what I missed. Here's something to ponder: Many Canadian folks have transplanted--now THAT speaks volumes!! I can't wait to move back to Florida; Rexmere Village, here I come!"
  • "I live here in Rexmere. The water was turned off due to major irrigation breaks and the pumps were turned off to make the necessary repairs. The pumps only get turned off to make any needed repairs. The administration does a wonderful job. As for the allegation about gangs, that is ridiculous. Rexmere performs a criminal and credit check on all applicants, which is more than most other neighborhoods can say!"
  • "I was visiting a friend who lives by the lake. So sad, water shortage today. His neighbor was very uncomfortable with water issues. He told us that the irrigation system is not working properly because the administration use to close the lake water/pressure and his garden recently planted needs water. I was thinking to buy a house but I think this is unaceptable. Another question is this a safe place to live? Don't think so, gangs using drugs everywhere...so sad!"
