What Locals Say about Bayou Oaks

  • Staveras83
"It’s a very green area full of trees and plants. Unique homes has a very Florida, tropical feel to it. Great neighbors, very calm and friendly people. "
  • Chelsea T.
"My neighborhood is easy to navigate. It has a beautiful little park, North Water Tower Park, that could use some more love, but currently has a disk golf course, a playground, a volleyball area, and a little pavilion with picnic tables. We have a Neighborhood Walmart and are near several gas stations. Unfortunately, the houses here are priced way above the value of the homes due to their proximity to Indian Beach/Sapphire Shores. It can be expensive to buy here. But the community feel is present and we are very active on the Nextdoor app. Check it out to see what the neighbors are like!"
  • Aaron O.
"I don’t know. I don’t have a dog. But there are dog owners in the neighborhood and they seem to be happy. "
  • Victoria S.
"I've lived here for 3 1/2 years. My neighbors are fantastic! Most in the area are down to earth and friendly. I love all the giant oaks with resurrection ferns coming to life after each rainfall. There is also the Sarasota Succulent Society with amazing plant life. "
  • Helen D.
"Absolutely convenient to bus service shopping beaches downtown airport all nearby Even farmers market "

The neighborhood is very diverse (you will find college students, young and old, rich and poor, Latino, White and African-American. The area is one of the most diverse areas in Sarasota."
