What Locals Say about Mallard Creek - Withrow Downs

  • " The commute to downtown is about 15 minutes in a car off of interstate 85. There are several short cuts off of Sugar Creek in the plaza to get to town but 85 is the most direct"
  • "There are a lot of dog owners in this neighborhood. Mostly everyone cleans up after their dogs. Most of the dogs are very friendly and well behaved. "
  • "I've lived in this area for a year. I wouldn't recommend it really. The only good reason to be here is it's close to UNCC. however, I never spend time outside my apt. There is a lot of crime in my particular neighborhood. We've had 4 major assaults in the past year. People beating each other and breaking car windows etc. The police never come to help. They spend more time directing traffic at the music pavilion. "
  • "Centrally located to I-85, 485 and 77. 10 minutes from Uptown Charlotte, 15 minutes to the lake, 10 minutes to UNCC and just minutes to restaurants and shopping. Great area. "
  • "This area is not so great. It's two extremes- the really nice, lavish homes in comparison with the double wides and homes in poor condition. I have friends that live here and are desperate to leave. Many current homeowners are getting "stuck" here and having trouble selling because the new 485 construction is going to be literally a couple of houses away. I don't recommend this area for anyone with children. Think twice before moving here!"
  • "I live in this area. The name of the neighborhood is Lexington which is a very good one. It is on Mallard Creek Rd.The people are very friendly and summers are great to spend time with your kids at the pool where you can meet your neighbors and make friends. There are very nice people with young kids and parties at the club house at Halloween, Christmas and in spring. Club house can be rented for social events by homeowners! It is a pet friendly neighborhood. It is 15 mins. to Northlake Mall and 10 mins to Concord Mills Mall. There is Trader Joe`s in 5 min. distance, Harris Tether and Food Lions within 2 min. There are good public and private schools in this area."
  • "Minutes to North Lake Mall and Concord Mills. Convenient grocery stores..Lowes, Harris Teeter and Trader Joe's within 10 minutes. Two movie theaters and 5 minutes to the interstate. "
