"The East Side Of Providence is beautiful. There’s oodles of restaurants & amazing shops over on hope street & in Wayland Sq. So, if you don’t mind walk, check out both and even Thayer St. I will say affordability is not a term thrown around over here. Most things are wildly overpriced, especially rental rates. It’s just the area, there’s no fighting it. It’s the Newport Mansions of Providence that blow up the costs. Do keep in mind it’s a college area so it’s definitely safer, but there’s a lot of grade schools in the area as well so speeding, often by locals, is a big issue for many of the parents. On top of that people double park on both sides of the street of the back roads around the boulevard which seriously sucks during garbage day, school bus season, or 4 o’clock traffic. Also, the pot holes are abhorrent. It’s a city wide issue but increasingly worse on east side. Heads up, there’s a part of Pawtucket that borders the east side. It offers essentially all the same things at a much cheaper cost. Maybe not million dollar homes, but you can walk to the boulevard & stroll by them just as you can from Butler Ave."

"Great location, easy access to large amount of amenities. My neighbors are friendly and have a great sense of community."

"It’s a beautiful, historic and convenient area for families and singles alike. Everyone looks out for each other here. Walk to shops and restaurants, some of the best in Providence only heightens the appeal. I’m spoiled!!"
  • "I used to live on South Angell St (building 120). I absolutely loved living in this area. The only reason we moved is because my husband got transferred in his job and we finished grad school from Brown University. I loved that most places were walkable, including Wayland Square, starbucks, the lovely boutique coffee shops, restaurants, CVS, public transport, and other amenities. It was like living in a city but quieter, safer, and a lot cleaner."
