What Locals Say about Windmill Harbour

  • Ejdefraine
"we have a new dog park that is not crowded at all. dogs must be on a leash otherwise. people k or dog names more than their owners "
  • Ejdefraine
"we are a smaller community with friendly gentile neighbors. shopping is a short drive away. lots of churches and & golf courses"
  • "This community is extremely pet friendly as most if the people here have dogs. There are plenty of paths and spots for dogs to relieve themselves. And then you can drive your dog to the beach and enjoy no leash requirements as certain times."
  • "Not too many kids here, mostly empty nesters. Secure, gated community with a semi remote location, yet close to everything. New road construction will be addressing the entrance for safer turning, but it will probably take a year or more to be completed."
  • "We live here, and have, for 8 years. In my opinion, we could not have selected a better community in which to retire. Folks living here are active, and the homes are very pretty. They're truly Southern looking, actually, Charlestonian architecture. Home colors are pink, yellow, white, and sage, most with shutters, columns, and mullioned windows. Many have deep water Intracoastal views and gorgeous sunsets. The SCYC is the heart of the community, even if you are not a boater. There is a locked marina, making boat ownership almost maintenance free. Lots of walking trails and a Community Pool. However, if you join the SCYC, there are several clay court tennis courts, a fitness room, an Olympic-sized pool, and lots of other things to do, called Activities. We do not have a golf club, so we do not pay substantial POA regime fees. In fact, our POA fees are quite reasonable. We have parades, dances, pool parties, etc., where you will meet vibrant, well-traveled, and kind residents. Dogs are welcome when on a leash, and we have many school-aged children living here, too. Come and see! We did. We stayed. We love it!"
