What Locals Say about Denville

  • Alexis P.
"Fantastically family friendly neighborhood to raise children in. Truly couldn’t ask for a nicer location or nicer neighbors. I know that I could at any time ask any number of them to help me move something, to borrow something etc and they would instantly without question be ready & willing to help out in any way they can. Truly a wonderful very well taken care of neighborhood. "
  • Alexis P.
"I truly cannot imagine a better neighborhood or town to raise my son in. My neighbors were instantly friendly and welcomed us with open arms! Anytime you need anything through multiple people, neighbors willing to help out in anyway they can. Really is a fantastic community to live in. Beacon Hill is, to me, the place to live and Denville."

  • Alexis P.
"It’s an extremely safe, family friendly, wonderful, clean, well looked after, and quiet neighborhood. We walk with our son at any time day or night and feel beyond safe. People are so friendly and it’s the kind of neighborhood where you could ask your neighbors for something and they wouldn’t even think twice to help you out in any way. We have the train station right down the street for anyone who commutes to work and Beacon Hill is only a few short minutes away from downtown Denville, the Shoppes at Union Hill, so many choice of places to eat, and anything else you could need. I love this neighborhood. "
  • Manuela S.
"There's Indian lake nearby with a very nice beach and lifeguard on duty for the summer, we have a street fair in the summer and main street is very nice for walks. Also it seems like everybody owns a dog 😊"

"There are street fairs and town events. We live in a lake community (Indian Lake) that regularly has Social activities. Walking distance of the lake which makes Summers great!"
  • Aamstew
"Parades downtown, street festivals, community fundraising festivals. There is a Christmas Town/Santa’s Workshop for the holidays. Small business promotion so we get to know local owners. Local farms sell produce, plants, etc. "
  • Osmodious
"It’s New Jersey...commuting is tolerable, at best. Denville has direct access to several highways and main roads, so is convenient to nearly any destination, but the actual drive there is very dependent on the time of day and day of week. There are backroads to anywhere in Morris County, and parts of Passaic County, so highways are easily avoided."
  • Helen E.
"Schools are amazing! People care about each other and really good schools. We have loved her 30+ years. Raised two great kids. Have loved every minute!"
  • Rachel
"Its a great town. Needs updated dining choices but we still love it! We live in the lake community which is excellent for bringing up children. The children still ride bikes and go fishing and play in the streets. "
  • Weirdnjchicklisa
"Quiet, low traffic, lake community with shady tree lined streets. Many people here are out walking or walking their dogs despite not having sidewalks here."
  • John H.
"Nice town, nice main street, lots of local shops and great ice cream!"
  • John H.
"Denville is a nice community with a great town center. Great schools, great recreation programs, exceptional access to highways, trains and busses for commuters. "
