"This is a friendly, small city. I have wonderful neighbors. Love living here. Many folks walk their dogs in the neighborhood or go jogging or walking. "
  • Bobicafge
"We simply have wonderful neighbors here who will do anything for you. One found me when I fell down the hill of my front yard and hit the road, suffering a traumatic brain injury. Another couple cooked meals for my husband while I was in the hospital and for about two months after I got out of the hospital. Just good people. "

"I am retired, prior to that, I worked in Morgantown. My commute was, for the most part, pretty easy. I could use the interstate, or two other roads that took a bit longer but were more scenic and relaxing."
  • Lauren Knight
"Events throughout the year, farmers markets, movie theater, bowling alley, coffee shops, plenty of jobs, small town pride. "
  • Trulia User

  • Mattie K.
"10 minutes or less from location to location. Traffic is worse during 4:30-6:00, 250 is pretty busy during the summer. "
  • Adnel R.

"This neighborhood is great we love the neighbors in the outdoor mountains in the grass we love the scenery of the deer and all of the state parks in the area there’s lots of things to do white water rafting and there’s plenty of barbecue pits in place to have camping. It takes about five minutes to get to pretty much anything"

"Little traffic. Sketchy foot-traffic. Certain areas have open-air drug sales. However, overall, I have lived in Fairmont, cumulatively for 16 years and where most visitors may be afraid to walk down the street, I feel perfectly comfortable. Most citizens mind their own business and don’t bother each other. Every city has their own set of problems and Fairmont is no different. If you want trouble, you’ll find it. If you want peace, you’ll find it. "

"Everyone loves dogs around here. I always see people walking their pets. Pet friendly neighborhood. "
  • Mark.goldberg618
"The private, yet neighborly feel. The dynamic of the neighborhood is constantly changing. I grew up here in the 80s and 90s. The neighborhood was filled with drug dealers and users. You rarely see that aspect of the community out in the open anymore. Although, certain areas are still infested with drugs, there is a peacefulness about it now. There are no more gunshots throughout the night. Most people respect one another. Problems with others in the community are rare. "

"I’ve lived here for about 11 years and it’s changed for the good in that time. The only reason I would leave is because of the main street running right in front of my home And I can’t handle the noise "
