What Locals Say about Woodstock

  • Trulia User
"I've lived here for 5 years, and it's so close and very safe. everyone is friendly, we have that community vibe. heck, our street gets a permit once a year to shut down and close off for our block party!"
  • Trulia User
"Brentwood Darlington is a transitional neighborhood. Much better off living in adjacent neighborhoods like Woodstock. "
  • Trulia User
"Brentwood Darlington has quite a few sketchy people who are residents, hang out or just pass through. The adjacent neighborhood of Woodstock is far superior. "
  • Gbinor
"Woodstock has a lot of restaurants and all of them are family friendly and accommodating to everyone. "
  • Gbinor
"There are 2 dog parks in the neighborhood. One is fenced, but in poor condition. The other is not fenced and also in poor condition. The city of Portland does not do a good job in taking care of their parks. It’s actually rather embarrassing. "
  • Gbinor
"Woodstock park is very nice, and all of the restaurants on Woodstock Boulevard are very good and parent/kid friendly. "
  • Chelsea R. M.
"there are book libraries everywhere and all of the neighbor s say hello to each other. I love living here "
  • Violet J.
"Great place to raise kids or grow old! quiet but close to banks, stores and restaurants. Would highly recommend!"
  • Claire K.
"About 25-40 mins to downtown depending on bridge traffic. Going to Vancouver is a reverse commute that takes between 25-30 minutes. "
  • Gbinor
"One bus takes you downtown. Driving is about 20 minutes at rush hour, or 15 minutes other times of day "
  • Eharristyler
"I see people walking dogs all the time! There are plenty of well lit streets and nice people around as well!"
  • Tatumkorin
"Lovely old nooks and houses. Woodstock blvd has some solid eateries, bars, and stores. Woodstock elementary is inclusive and forward thinking."
  • Elkseraph L.
"A super cute, walking neighborhood with good restaurants, a Starbucks, New Seasons, Fish Market, Grand Central Bakery, and a large organic food section in the local Safeway. Woodstock is a very up and coming neighborhood. "
  • Liveloong
"Very nice quiet and very safe area"

"I have lived in the Woodstock area for almost 10 years. It started out as a quiet 'older' neighborhood but within a few years had many 'young' families or couples starting out move in. This is the neighborhood where everyone watches out for each other and families share meals with each other. Most of the residents on the street take pride in their home and neighborhood (Keeping a clean yard, mowed lawn, picking up leaves, etc). It's very common to have neighbors standing outside talking to each other, greeting people passing through the neighborhood. It really is a nice area for both young and older people."
