"A fence is important. Houses are kinda close. Other dogs. I have 3. And I only walk one at a time because not everyone leashes and I want to make sure I can control the situation. "
  • Chesterdonell419

  • Raven S.
"Easy paced travel. Light traffic and the roads arent ragged. Most drivers, drive at a sedate pace. 40 mins or so outside of Cleveland, Oh."
  • Romy P.
"I just moved here so I don’t know much of what goes on yet. I know Halloween was big and everyone makes their homes look great for the holidays. "

  • Ralphael B. T.
"The schools are average, but it’s a nice rural-city to raise a family. I can walk my dog at 1 o’clock in the morning and feel fine, and there no litter anywhere."
  • MKSiemionko
"great neighborhood vibe, walkable town with lots of locally owned shops and very friendly folks. Made an SLC transplant feel right at home and I couldn't be happier. also feels very safe and the online resources can't be best in terms of FB and Nextdoor."
  • Rickllatimer
"Great strong family community, have lived here since 2000. I was born here but moved away for a few years. I’m glad I purchased a home and stayed in the community. While it’s not a fast paced city, and not very large, it’s peaceful.Neighbors help each other and usually look out for each other. There are plenty of parks and clear sidewalks and hiking paths to enjoy the outdoors safely. Schools are decent compared to Akron and Cleveland. The community is growing and moving forward with progress. Small business are coming into the area to help support the growth. Ravenna is the county seat of Portage County. While there is no perfect city, this place is a decent place to live and raise a family. While there is crime everywhere, it’s all relative to the people. There are definitely more good people than bad in this town. We have raised 6 kids here and 4 have gone onto colleges."

"There are parks and trails activities for all ages especially around holidays there is public transportation and low income housing "

  • Jonip1225
"Dog friendly, lots of dogs being walked on leashes, lots of veterinarians, everyone wants to pet my dog. "
  • Jdluvslabs
"Easy to and from in my town. Roads are not in the best condition but hope that will change. Our town needs all the help it can get. "
  • Kcipriano55
"Neighbors looking out for neighbors. Always letting them know if something suspicious is going on. But usually isn’t in our neighborhood "
  • Marlene Newman Gauthier
"My son and I have lived in the community since 1996.During the turn of the last century, Ravenna was home to the elite, rich and famous! If you were part of this elite bunch, people all over knew 'you' made it if you were so fortunate to live in this wonderful community. Today, Ravenna still offers that 'home' town feel. The neighbors are friendly and the whole town treats one another like old friends and family. Here in Ravenna, Trick or Treat is the ideal location as there are side walks and the community comes together and participates in the fun going all out while the local police patrol the area so everyone is safe. The annual balloon-a-thon is a must for all ages. Ravenna boast a brand new state of the art movie theater for matinees, family nights, date night or just hang out with friends and see the latest release. Or if your in the mood during the spring, summer and early fall, you can visit the old fashioned 'drive in movie theater', one of the last ones remaining in the entire country. While many senior citizens have been born and raised right here in this great community of Ravenna, still the younger generation will find it's very family friendly atmosphere with the local park, good school system, local library, family/ friendly feel and great place to raise your children very. appealing, Itt has all the latest life has to offer while still giving you that 'yester-year feel` from times long past."

"This subdivision has an annual block party and neighborhood gatherings. Trick or treating on Halloween and other special events."
  • Sunniegilly
"It’s slummy and run down and I wouldn’t buy a house here. There’s a lot of crime and drugs. Houses aren’t kept up. "
  • Kimberly G.
"About 10 minutes in any direction are restaurants and groceries stores but about 45 minutes to get to a major city like Cleveland or Akron. Industrial areas are about 10-15 minutes away also. Very close to the turnpike but far enough away that you can't hear it or get affected by traffic. "
  • Kimberly S.
"I've lived in this area for almost 8 years and there really isn't any crime, people pretty much mind their own business but keep an eye on the neighborhood and the kids that are always playing outside. "
  • Inspgadgt9
"Time has passed and progress seems to allude Ravenna. Main Street so well travelled yet needs paved properly. "
  • Those4boys1mama
"I live in a very nice and close knit area. we all watch out for one another and our homes. We enjoy backyard pool parties and bbqs too. "
  • Those4boys1mama
"It is a small town with history that still shines. It is rebuilding and growing to become a better place to live."
