What Locals Say about Wayland

  • Valerie Andrews
"Simple but if construction there is really only one main road so it can get backed up. A 13 minute commute can be up to 30 minutes at times"
  • Valerie Andrews
"Many friendly dogs in the neighborhood, only one sided side walks on main streets, no sidewalks on residential streets /off main roads. Lots of natural land and trails nearby which is a plus!"
  • Steven Schamberg
"Eliza J Norton Foundation puts on an annual event for families free of charge as a thank you and built new dugouts at the main park."
  • Patrick Varone
"People drive down Rt 20. It gets busy after 7 am and then again after 4pm. No public transportation."
  • Shea S.
"The random parades or just fun events I see but have no idea what they are due to the fact that I’m from Florida. This is a very lovely and safe place to live."
  • Katie D.
"No sense of community. But lots of privacy and everyone is friendly. I grew up here and lived here for 21 years. There’s something about this town being surrounded by people and still feeling alone, but maybe it’s just me. "
  • Yan F.
"Not roo many dog parks. Walking dogs is awesome, but where do you go with your dog? plus more sidewalk would be great."
  • Sondra L.
"Tree lined streets. Country setting close to major highways and 1/2 hr to Boston with out traffic. "
  • Jan
"Wayland is a lovely suburban community west of Boston. There are mostly single family homes in town, nestled within nice neighborhoods, but also a number of condominium communities. The public schools are good and the community is safe, "
  • Nashquadir
"very safe neighborhood kids have lots of playgrounds easy commute one of best public schools in the state"
  • Johntgarcia g. c.
"Wonderful people, amazing schools, quiet, bucolic, and just a great place to live. Best place I have ever lived!"
  • Deegould
"Very little traffic, well kept homes, friendly people. Good schools, near shopping, small town venu"
  • Pace R.
"Having lived in Wayland for the last 8 years with my family, all I can say is that I am blessed. Excellent community with friendly families. Fantastic schools that kids want to go to before the doors open. There is barely any crime and most streets are dead quiet at night. The closest public transportation to Boston is in Natick or Lincoln - both are commuter rail lines. Otherwise it is drive anywhere. There are sidewalks in my area but in some parts of town there is really no need as you are so far from anyone it would just not make sense. Taxes are a bit high as well. Wayland is perfect for families, not so much for singles or the elderly. "
  • AK
"Surrounding by nature with woods, walks and wildlife. Friendly neighbours with a great sense of community. Top 5 school district. Good local shopping and also convenient drive to Natick. Easy access to main motorways. And only 15 mins from Boston City at the weekends....What more can I say???"
  • Zen9966

  • Christine M.
"Have lived in different parts of Wayland for 30 years. I believe the Wayland Hills and Woodridge area is the best and most convenient area of town."
  • Karen L.
"Great location ..... access Boston. A town with a top school system, and access ........ unique and diverse recreational offerings."
