Description

Welcome to 2003 Castro Way, a move-in-ready single-story Craftsman bungalow nestled on a tree-lined closed-end street in Sacramento's charming Curtis Park neighborhood. Thoughtfully updated throughout, this 2-bed, 1-bath home with a flexible additional den blends historic character with modern comfort at every turn. With a brand-new roof and gutters just installed, the most important structural updates are already done. Inside, warm hardwood floors run through the main living areas, where a white brick fireplace anchors the living room and natural light fills every corner. The layout flows easily from the living room to the dining room to the kitchen, making everyday living and entertaining feel effortless. The kitchen features white cabinetry, granite countertops, a farmhouse sink, and a gas range. The primary bedroom is comfortable and inviting with a sliding glass door that opens directly to the backyard, making morning coffee outside feel like a natural part of the routine. The renovated bathroom is a standout, featuring a glass-enclosed standing shower, a separate soaking tub, a stone tile surround, oil-rubbed bronze fixtures, an updated vanity with a stone countertop, and radiant floor heat. Off the kitchen is a versatile room that serves as both a laundry room and a flex space, with built-in cabinetry and its own exterior door, handy as a mudroom, home office, or extra storage area. Out back, the lush, tree-shaded yard with a generous flagstone patio and string lights is the kind of space that gets used year-round, while the storage shed adds practical flexibility. In addition to the new roof, the HVAC, water heater, electrical panel, and 11KW EV charger have all been updated within the past few years. Located in one of Sacramento's most charming neighborhoods, this home puts you close to beloved local parks and a thriving dining and arts scene, and is just minutes from downtown Sacramento, major medical centers, and light rail, making it the perfect place to call home.

"Good access to busses and the light rail, but it’s more of a bike friendly neighborhood than walk friendly. My drive to any point in sac is 10-20 minutes depending on traffic and there’s some shops/food spots nearby so I don’t often need to leave my zip code. "
  • Trulia User
"great people very helpful they're giving very supportive especially during these trying times. but I'm looking for a neighborhood Senior Living a house lower level a duplex or small house also I have a senior pet."
  • Alison H.
"Dog friendly Nice park Plenty of space Easy location to walk places Polite people Traffic is reasonable "
  • Trahern F.
"Girlfriend lives in the neighborhood feel very happy knowing she will be OK. Neighborhood seems lively and well-kept"
  • Annahenly03
"Family oriented . Great place to raise a family. And a great place to have pets. Love the safe feeling I have walking or running at the park."
  • Apichly
"Older homes, walkable neighborhoods, mature tree-lined streets, with nearby shopping and restaurants. We love it here."
  • Christina G.
"I enjoy living in this neighborhood. The trees are large and beautiful, and the neighborhood is made up of beautiful homes with unique architecture. It’s a peaceful place to live."
  • Laurengateslive
"10 minute walk to the Blue Line light-rail Station , 5 minute walk to both the 67 and 51 busses. Very convenient, easy to live here without needing a car."
  • Grgbntspk
"We aren't aware of any community events, but the Sierra 2 center always has great stuff happening. But most importantly, everyone in the neighborhood seem really happy. "
  • Laurengateslive
"the bus line, Light Rail, and freeway entrance are all very close. transportation is easy in this neighborhood."
  • Laurengateslive
"great access to public transportation, I can get anywhere I need to in Sacramento without owning a car"
  • Ellison8
"6 miles. across downtown and the river. can take the freeway. surface streets or public transit. very easy"
  • erikhofmann
"Just moved here. Safe neighborhood. Friendly neighbors. Great parks. Great local places to eat. There is a community event in the park during the summer. Very walkable."
  • Xrayguy
"Old growth trees and quaint bungalow homes...you can feel the history on every block. Neighbors are all nice and involved with the community and welcomed us when we moved here six months ago. We are close enough to downtown or the freeways to get to wherever we need to be. We are discovering new things about Sacramento every week."
  • Brendon B.
"The best thing about this area is the nearly non-existent crime. Walking to light rail and bus routes takes just a couple minutes and we can get to most parts of the city. It's also great to be in walking distance to the zoo and Land Park."
  • Neuturn2
"Curtis Park is one of the Premier Neighborhoods of the greater Sacramento area. Some homes historical in nature, many one off custom homes. Not easy to find a home for sale in this area. Most homes could still be owned by the heirs of the original owner. The streets are shaded by trees that have existed for generations. The actual Park is also shaded by historically aged trees, updated with a walk/run path that circles the park."
