The studio is divided into 4 spaces: the entryway/waiting room, the grand south-facing studio, a bathroom with a tiled shower, and a guest room which can double as a second artist studio/ workshop/office.
1. The Studio is passive solar, light filled, room boasting 11 Ft and 15 Ft ceilings. The design of the south facing overhang blocks summer sun and allows maximum winter sun exposure.
2. There are two engineered covered bridge-design ceiling trusses. The Lattice Truss ceiling design was inspired by the design of the Hern's Mill.
3. The Studio floor is a floating floor, created from local lumber, performance quality design, and a Zero VOC poly finish.
4. The building is heated by a Temp-Cast Masonry Heater, a design often used in Scandinavia and Canada. The heater is made of fire brick and is highly efficient, burning for 24 hours. Auxiliary paintable electric wall units are strategically positioned as a heat source when the Temp-Cast is not needed.
5. Bathroom features a large tile and stone floor shower. 2025 New toilet, jet pumped pressure tank in 2nd building.
6. Bosch clothes washer.
7. Greenhouse under the studio deck.
8. Greenhouse and workshop share a chimney which could be used if needed. Not currently hooked up.
9. Studio needs a new submersible water pressure pump. Water is off in studio. On demand hot water heater.
