Jennifer Lopez Drops $28 Million On Sela Ward’s Bel Air Estate

The “Shades of Blue” star spent plenty of green on this sprawling home.

Jenny’s got a new block, and this time it’s in Bel Air, CA! Singer/actress Jennifer Lopez has a new 8-acre piece of real estate in Los Angeles, CA, that she just bought from former House and CSI: NY star Sela Ward, and it’s certainly a home fit for a diva. The seven-bedroom, 13-bathroom spread, which measures a grand 13,932 square feet, cost J. Lo a cool $28 million. Of course, when you net $17.5 million for a season of American Idol like Jennifer, $28 million doesn’t seem so bad!

Jennifer’s new home, which was built in 1940 and renovated by Sela (there were ducks living in it when Sela moved in!), is French Country–style, originally designed by famed architect Samuel Marx. Once past a gated entry, guests are welcomed into the expansive living room, where vaulted ceilings and steel windows and doors show the grandeur of the space. In the kitchen, walls made of stone complement the casual sitting area and breakfast nook, where no doubt J. Lo will curl up with her twin children, Max and Emme.

We’re guessing Jennifer is preparing to do a fair share of entertaining, seeing as there’s a downstairs pub, 30-seat screening room, and a guesthouse. Plus, there are enough parking spots on the property for 17 cars, so at least we know Jenny can fit the entire Shades of Blue cast on the estate. Oh, and then there’s the outdoor terrace that features a three-sided infinity edge pool, and the swimming pond with a sandy beach and outdoor shower. The expansive grounds also have a 100-seat amphitheater, pagoda with a fire pit, vineyard, and an organic vegetable garden, though we can’t exactly imagine J. Lo with too much dirt under her fingernails.

Jennifer’s been known for making some high-end real estate deals. Back in September, she dropped the price on the Hidden Hills, CA, estate she once shared with ex-husband Marc Anthony to $14.5 million. (Marc, by the way, decamped for Encino, CA, paying $2.5 million for a bachelor pad of his own.) In 2014, she dropped $22 million on an East Coast abode in her hometown of New York, NY, located in the same building as Chelsea Clinton and NASCAR’s Jeff Gordon. And the year before that, Jennifer bought a palatial pad in the Hamptons, NY, for a cool $10 million. Pretty ritzy for someone whose “love don’t cost a thing.”
