"Great area to live. Safe, clean, accessible. Tricky housing market, out of control rent prices. Lots of adu’s."
  • Keegan
"There’s a fenced dog park with grass in the neighborhood and lots of other dogs to play with. It’s great. "
  • Keegan
"Friendly neighbors - feels like a small town in a big urban area. Solid schools, great parks, easy to walk places, great community feel. Very safe. I’ve lived here 12 years. Have raised three kids here. Still feel lucky to live here on a regular basis. "
  • Trulia User
"Growing up in Berkeley was particularly special for me, we had many neighborhood parties at the park and water fights in the summer. "
  • Trulia User
"You see dogs at the parks and out on walks every day and all day long. It’s really great. Very very friendly"
  • Trulia User
"Great place; family oriented; good property maintenance; lots of trees; ideal East Bay Area but also expensive "
  • Trulia User
"My neighborhood has excellent access to major freeways which connect to downtown Oakland and San Francisco. It is located within walking distance to the Bay trail with a gorgeous view of the Golden Gate Bridge. There are so many dining options to enjoy a variety of cuisines. "
  • Cara A.
"Albany Hill is a great place to walk your dog. Most everyone keeps their dog on lead - plenty of interesting wildlife to lunge after here too! "
  • Brent W.
"everything in the East Bay is getting expensive. I've lived here 20 years and can no longer afford it. "
  • Alexis
"We are close to Solano Ave that has tons of restaurants and little shops. Cute neighborhood feel. We know some of our neighbors and look out for each other. "
  • Kat G.
"Tons of community. Wonderful public schools and proximity to Berkeley, Oakland & SF while still feeling like a small town."
  • a father leaving Oceanview
"Because this area is populated by students from around the world it is a pretty good place fir children to grow exposed to more cultures. But as this. Of course selects for families who are economically and geopolitically capable of attending an elite institution- the diversity is shallow. It has lately due to institutional policy changes become less family friendly and more young, dog owning couples that dint respect the commons. "
  • Lcflanagan
"Central area and as easy a commute as these things go. Near busses, BART and freeway. I take the bus to downtown Berkeley, under half an hour. "
  • Bhuvana.tandur156
"Good neighborhood with good schools for children in walking distance. Older homes lacking minimum amenities in the modern days like dish washers."
  • Hector C.
"I've been here for a year already and the neighborhood is quiet and close to a diverse set of amenities."
  • Dwighthford
"The number of families connected to UCB which used to bring welcome economic and cultural diversity is dropping as UCB housing authorities have apparently decided that the revenue generated from undergraduates with ‘service’ pets is better than the revenue generated from non-traditional students. So the flavor of the neighborhood has changed in the last 5 years "
  • Rochellehummel6
"Solano stroll, As You Wish block movie, live music, music in the park, movies in the park, dinner on Solano, Solano morning street pick up, Cornell community events for school, Halloween on Solano, etc. etc."
  • Trinitykel
"I've lived here 10 years. Neighbors are incredibly friendly and you can be as involved or uninvolved as you want. We have a block party every year with great participation. There is remarkable racial, ethnic, religious, socio-economic and sexual orientation diversity. We have a new group of young and school age children so the neighborhood is alive with the sounds of children."
  • Yulan6181
"I've been live this area for more than ten years. Folks of the neighborhood are nice and friendly. Good school district which cause high rent. "
