What Locals Say about Mission

  • Jenkatheiser
"There are some kids, not a ton. There is an elementary school and a high school within walking distance. This is a safe area for kids and families. I would recommend Mission as a place to raise a family. Not only is it budget friendly, but it is easy to walk to amenities and visit the community center as needed. "
  • Jenkatheiser
"Easy peasy - very fast freeway access. Minutes to Downtown. Take i35 all directions.*********************"
  • Jenkatheiser
"I always see many people walking their dogs. There is a park right on the corner of Woodson and 53rd. We walk our dogs often through this park, which has a nice paved trail, bathrooms and shelter."
  • Katie Harrington
"No sidewalks and street lights are dim and sparse. Can be hard to see people at night and don’t get many trick or treaters at Halloween."
  • Trulia User
"Lots of sidewalks, and plenty of park options for owners to walk their dogs. Plenty of other dog owners in the neighborhood as well. "
  • Trulia User
"people help each other out and always have such friendly personalities. great neighborhood. lots of kids and dogs. lots of families"
  • Trulia User
"not picking up their poop and I like other things but the birds and the bees make me happy in the springtime"
  • Scadams22
"Close to downtown and the plaza. Despite the short distance to Overland Park trips south can get excessively long due to constant road construction and I35 being a mess."
  • Jeremy S.
"Easy access to I-35 and other major highways but far enough away to not have traffic. Quaint area with a lot of building happening which may cause traffic later on. "
  • Aimee G. L.
"My commute is a quick drive down Johnson Drive. Seems to always be a lot of road construction & detours going on this main thoroughfare, however. "
  • Bruh.
"It’s exploding with millennials and people who call the police on you for moving in. But it is amazing scenery and lots of joggers with dogs to poop in your yard and driveways."
  • Vicki A.
"Festivals, Farmers Market, recreational fun, parades, holiday events, sidewalk sales, pool parties, swim meets, "
  • Erin V.
"It's a dog friendly neighborhood, yet there isn't excessive barking during the day or night. There are parks where they can stretch their legs with their owners, and the neighborhood kids are well behaved as well."
  • Lndbkr
"I've lived in this community for 15 years and people are very friendly and they look out for each other. "
  • mathewhoelting
"This is an amazing area with great neighbors. The east side of Horton Street backs up to Rushton Elementary which is fantastic if you don't like nosy neighbors in your backyard. It also gives the illusion of a much bigger yard since the fence runs along the field area of the school. "
  • tallen59
"LIve in this area, very walkable and new shops and park walkways are coming. Within 5 miles of historic Seville Country Club Plaza "
  • tallen59

  • Marsha H.
"So close to everything you need for daily life. Grocery, hardware, banking is all within a 5 minute drive. Access to highway is easy. Country Club Plaza within 10 minutes."
  • Harrisgbg
"Live in Countryside, amazing area, close to shopping and excellent schools!"
