What Locals Say about Franklin Park

  • John Clark
"Brick streets. Large old beautiful homes. Close to downtown, bars, restaurants, parks. Bike path. Grocery store nearby."
  • Shannon Weems
"This neighborhood has a lot of family oriented people in the area and kids. Very nice community but could improve on home renovation and more affordable. Its cost is too high with poor quality housing. "
  • Trulia User
"good area well maintaned, good area for home life. sidewalks shops parking sone crime but frequency appears low "
  • Tmichaelhutchinson14
"Very dog friendly! Franklin Park is nearby and a phenomenal place to walk your dogs. There are usually multiple people there with their dogs as well for the pups to play!"
  • Adam M.
"Many people walk their dogs in the neighborhood and through the park. Most dogs are well-behaved and on leashes. "
  • Tim S.
"No community events I know of, but being next to the park makes it so we can check out events at the conservatory any time we like."
  • bb
"Work from home, but use public transportation for the events downtown. Use an Uber/Lyft if it’s late because the buses stop early. "
  • Joshua M.
"Beautiful Historic homes in a vibrant and diverse neighborhood. I know my neighbors well and trust them. We look out for each other and watch out for everyone. The neighborhood is quiet and safe yet still close to downtown."
  • Darrell D.
"This area has a lot of potential and was making a fast comeback before the market crash. There are still some signs of redevelopment but it has slowed considerably. The neighborhood commission can be a pain in the rear to get anything new and innovative approved and many of the commissioners are stuck 40 years in the past and don't understand the nature of real estate renovations so be CAREFUL if you are planning a complete renovation. The schools are absolutely awful! If you hear that a particular school is one of "the best in the district" that only means that your child will be 2 years behind suburban schools and not 4."
