What Locals Say about Los Lunas

Review Highlights

Los Lunas: easygoing semi-rural life, large lots, clear skies, quick ABQ access, wallet-friendly. People love the quiet, friendly vibe, big yards, low traffic, and an easy commute to Albuquerque. Drawbacks: spotty schools, few hangouts, some crime and strays, car needed for errands.

"This area of Meadowlake is easily the nicest and the best neighborhood in Meadowlake it has really awesome people that live here who look out for each other and who will always wave good morning to you. And there's still some kids playing around the neighborhood like kids used too. Every single one of the bus stops for each grade level is off Buena Vista and Cereza so you can choose to have your kid be a little bit earlier or a little bit later depending on all the different bus stops you can choose from elementary all the way to high school. The sun bus also runs in this area regularly. The privacy is amazing and the space is even better in this area. Stunning starlet skies at night that you would never be able to see in the city but also close enough to go back and forth to Albuquerque in less than an hour. Fresh air and peace and quiet. I lived here for over 10 years and never once dealt with any crime, vandalism or burglary. Genuinely great area and you can't beat the mortgage prices they are less than most studio apartments anywhere."
  • Nicki T.

"This is an okay area schools aren’t very great, and there’s not that much to do around here also. Not to mention the crime rate around here is rising and there have been a couple break ins around the area too. "

"It’s 2 miles to the nearest store. And 7 to town. A car is a must. Unless you want to run a marathon. It would be good exercise. And a great view of the mountains. "
  • LilaC
