I would recommend this school to anyone who wants the children to love to learn, appreciate diversity and be the best version of themselves.Parent Review5y ago9 Reviews - Hocker Grove Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is the worst school you could send your child to in Johnson county. They will not help a student at all who's being bullied no matter what you do. I have had 3 students that have had( and currently) to go to this school. They all tell me the same things. If your student stands up to a bully, your student will get suspended, yet the bully won't. The problem students cause a learning issue for the others. They yell at teachers and cuss them out. It's pathetic. Cmon man.. They have a 2 star review.. It would be much worse if they had not put the tool to remove your review.Parent Review5mo ago17 Reviews - Shawnee Mission North High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went here for my high school education. The art program is where I spent most of my time and inspired me to become a art teacher myself. Made good friends with the teachers in that program and felt a mutual respect between student and teacher. But in the other departments, there were issues. Fortunately the teachers that went out of their way to be misogynist or unprofessional towards the students left after my graduation. Mr.Ewers is a great principle from what I remember, making an effort to get to know the students on a individual level. The counselors did their best but often but their opinion about what classes would be best for you over your own, at the determent of your mental health or scheduled. My sisters now go to North and I'm excited for them, if not a little cautions in case they get a misogynist history teacher like myself. Overall, I got my diploma with a 3.9gpa without taking more than 3 AP classes and only 3 math classes. Lots of diversity while I was there and the queer community was very supported as there. The students are very outspoken and have a sense of self.Other Review2y ago9 Reviews - Check out schools near 7309 Larsen Ln.

"I see dog walking in my neighborhood and every park. Most are good about cleaning up after pets. I don’t see a lot of loose dogs in my neighborhood, however, there is a strong community of people who will try to catch loose dogs. "

"The community has lots of events on a regular basis for pretty much anyone, Old Shawnee Days, bike rodeo, Halloween, Easter parade, Neighborhood pool is great, mill creek trail and the others."

"Most of Shawnee is nice. Great access to any amenities you could ever need. People are decently nice as well. Older homes, 65-75% are maintained well. I feel fairly safe here, though I know there is some crime occasionally (at least in my immediate area). I personally feel the houses out here are a bit overpriced for what they are— older and on the small side, and many are not updated."

"Great location and close to I-35 so you can get anywhere fairly easy. Shopping is wonderful either going towards 435 there’s Walmart, pet stores Lowe’s all together. The roads are meh, still bad pot holes. Being close to Quivera is a plus, can get to the Mall fairly quick. Great chain restaurants everywhere. "
